The Myriad Turbine
Myriad Wind Energy Systems is an award-winning startup developing the Myriad Turbine - a truly modular utility-scale wind turbine. The Myriad Turbine uses numerous standardised 250kW generating units supported on a modular support structure to achieve vast reductions in the levelized cost of energy.
Our solution uses components that are easy to manufacture and transport, and our built-in maintenance system means our turbine can be maintained without external cranes while also reducing time working at height. Unlike conventional wind turbines, the Myriad Turbine uses the same supply chain regardless of turbine size. This unique aspect eliminates supply chain bottlenecks and drives efficiencies for our customers.

Our design philosophy focuses on simple components that are easy to manufacture. This lowers the barrier to entry for manufacturers, resulting in a diverse supply chain. As the Myriad Turbine is a scalable solution, the same supply chains can be used across the entire product range.

Our smaller rotors mean we can develop sustainable blades by using alternative materials, combined with sustainable manufacturing and recycling processes. At Myriad, we believe that wind turbines should not only produce clean power, but utilise a fully circular economy to reach all sustainability goals.
Collaborators and Funders
About us
All three co-founders of Myriad have been involved with innovation in wind energy, in one form or another, over the last 7-8 years. They initially met in 2017 at the start of their PhD programme at the Wind and Marine Energy Systems Centre for Doctoral Training.
With a keen eye for commercial opportunities, and building on their complementary skillsets, the team used the Conception X start-up accelerator programme in 2021 as the first springboard for what Myriad is today.
Myriad Wind Energy Systems was registered in August of 2021, buoyed by the success of winning the Conception X Accelerator DemoDay. Since then, the team has been working tirelessly to make Myriad a success, already achieving significant milestones on their journey. The award-winning team has now grown to five members in total, and we will continue to expand.
The company is currently based in Stirling, Scotland. Scotland is at the forefront of wind energy globally, with an array of companies developing wind farms and wind supply chains across the country. It is, therefore, the ideal place to build the business.
